Accounting Software Engineer

MetaCommunications, software developer based in Iowa City, Iowa has an immediate opening for an Accounting Software Engineer. This technical position will work directly with our engineering team to research various accounting systems and develop plug-ins to our commercial software products. Candidates will also work directly with our sales team and customers to gather use-cases/requirements and provide pre and post sales support.

Responsibilities

• Installation and basic setup of diverse accounting systems, including MYOB, Solomon, Great Plains, MAS90, and others.
• Write requirements for new plug-ins for our software products that provide integration to third-party accounting products.
• Assist engineering and software testing teams in developing tests for plug-ins.
• Provide presales and post-sales basic accounting support to customers.

Requirements

• Accounting background.
• Experience with one or more accounting systems.
• Programming experience in JavaScript, SQL, Visual Basic, or other computer language.
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into something clearly understandable by a non-technical audience
